Electronic filing for T1 – Individual Income Tax return Canada will be unavailable on below dates as per the Canada Revenue Agency:
January 17, 2020 11:00PM to February 24, 2020 08:30 AM
During this period, personal taxes cannot be EFILED or ReFILED, and Express Notice of Assessment will be not available.
For the individuals in Canada, looking to file their taxes electronically for the years ending December 31, 2018 can do so before January 17, 2020, 11:00 PM. In case if those tax returns cannot be filed electronically by that, they still have the option to send paper tax returns to relevant tax centers.
This is not applicable to Corporation Income Tax Returns (T2) Efiling and the services will be available.
Individual Income Tax Returns (T1) for the year 2019 will be available from February 24, 2020, at 08:30 AM.
Efiling of personal tax returns for 2019 in Canada will be available from February 24, 2020. If you are having a simple tax situation and already have all the necessary documentation including information slips, you can start your process of individual income tax return preparation earlier as well. Your tax return can be transmitted electronically once the service is opened by the CRA.
If you are looking to backfile previous year’s income tax returns, you can do so by paper filing, electronically before the services is interrupted, or electronically after the service is back.
